Dear family and friends,
It is with great
excitement that I write you to tell you about the next great adventure in my
life! As most of you know, our family went to Haiti
last year to work with Christian Friendship Ministries where we spent 10 amazing
days living and working with the orphans, church leaders and many others in the
community of Pignon, Haiti.
While in Haiti,
we stayed in the original mission house, which was built by the first
missionaries back in the late 1950s. The house has seen better days; however,
it is still the main house to host dozens of volunteers who do work in Haiti
each year.
At the end of May
I will be taking a team of six to eight men to do some work on the mission
house, including fixing the roof/ceiling, updating the restrooms, updating the
electrical now that the solar panels are installed and creating a better
kitchen and larger dining space for the teams of volunteers. We will also be
updating and installing restrooms for the orphanage and the church located next
to the mission house.
The team going has
a diverse background in engineering, construction and mechanics. I need you to
help us out! Please pray and ask how God would use you to be part of this trip.
Our goal is to raise $10,000-$15,000 for building materials and supplies. In
addition, each of the team members is responsible to raise another $1,000-2,000
each for traveling costs. Each of us is committed to using at least half of our
own personal savings to fund the traveling costs, so anything we raise over and
above our goal will go directly to the current mission projects, including the
school and orphanages.
As you can
imagine, we need a lot of prayer for logistics and financing. Our goal is to
have many of the supplies purchased before we arrive. I am so grateful for your
